Creating Color Schemes: The Many Moods of Color

What's in a color? A lot! The psychology of color is a huge industry that major corporations rely upon to influence human behavior.

For example, the original Pepsi logo -- blue on bottom, red on top -- was designed to represent the hot sun blazing down on the cool ocean. It's supposed to make you thirsty. Fast food restaurants tend to use brown, orange and red because it increases your appetite and energy so you'll eat a lot more and a lot faster.

So choose wisely when planning colors for your room. Ask yourself what mood you want to convey before making your final selections.
